By the Sea Recovery is founded and operated by Mark and Amy Gladden. They bring lived recovery experience and hands-on leadership to this structured sober living home.

Mark Gladden — Owner and Founder

Mark is a military veteran (Desert Shield/Desert Storm), a 25-year North County San Diego resident, and a person in long-term recovery. He founded By the Sea Recovery in 2013 to give men the structure and accountability he knows works. Mark is personally involved in move-in conversations, family questions, and the culture of the home — not a remote owner, but an active daily presence.

Amy Gladden — Owner / Staff Training and Program Support

Amy personally holds CADC II and ICADC credentials. At BTS, she supports nonclinical staff training, house communication, and program operations. BTS does not provide clinical treatment.

By the Sea Recovery and Present Moments Recovery provide different services. BTS provides Structured Sober Living. PMR provides licensed clinical treatment. PMR’s licenses, accreditations, insurance relationships, and clinical services do not apply to BTS.
