Can I Live in Sober Living While Attending Outpatient Treatment?
Yes, a man can talk with me about living at BTS in San Marcos while attending PHP, IOP, or ordinary outpatient care (OP) with a separate provider. This is a question I want you and your family to ask early. I decide independently whether this home is a good fit; the outside provider handles assessment, treatment, insurance, and its schedule. Treatment is not required to live at BTS.
Put the provider's location and schedule beside the house schedule
Ask your provider where treatment takes place and which weekdays you would attend. Before deciding on housing, think through travel time as well as treatment time, meals, recovery activities, work if you have it, and life in a shared home.
Outside treatment participation counts toward BTS requirements, and most BTS house requirements occur on weekends. After your outside provider's treatment intake paperwork shows your actual schedule, I'll work through how it fits with you; sometimes I also ask for attendance reports. PHP is often a weekday daytime commitment. Present Moments Recovery's separate PHP program is generally held during weekday daytime. Its IOP usually meets for three three-hour evening sessions each week, often Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Other providers may schedule PHP, IOP, or OP differently; ask yours for current days and requirements. Work out the rides before you rely on them
BTS is in San Marcos, but your treatment may be elsewhere in North County. Present Moments Recovery (PMR) is a separate treatment organization in Carlsbad. PMR offers pickup and return rides for people in its own treatment program. Ask PMR directly to confirm its current arrangements for your situation. Those are PMR rides, not BTS transportation; I cannot promise them through a housing offer. Ask any other outside provider what transportation it offers, if any, and plan the trip there and back.
Plan for two separate costs
BTS is private-pay housing and does not bill insurance for the residence. An outside provider handles its own treatment charges and insurance arrangements. Housing and treatment are not bundled; ask each organization what you would owe before making a plan. I'll explain the room, applicable fees, and current availability before any bed offer. How can I pay for housing while I’m in treatment?
Daytime PHP can make full-time weekday work hard to manage. Savings or family help may cover an initial stretch of housing. Weekend work may help if it fits recovery, outside treatment, and our weekend house commitments. We can talk honestly about what is realistic for you.
PMR's separate IOP usually meets for three three-hour evening sessions, often Monday, Wednesday and Friday. That may leave daytime flexibility for work; it is not a job guarantee or a promise of any particular schedule. Confirm the provider's current schedule and make a payment plan that does not depend on work you have not arranged.

What happens if BTS might be right for you?
You or a family member can call first. We can arrange a tour; I also need to meet the man who would live here before deciding on housing fit. If the home is appropriate and a suitable bed is available, I explain the room, cost, and expectations and may offer a bed. You can take time to accept.
